Manchester City officially announced today, Wednesday, the signing of Tijjani Reijnders from Italian side AC Milan on a five-year contract.
In a statement published on its website, Manchester City said:
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Dutch international Tijjani Reijnders on a five-year deal. The 26-year-old joins us from AC Milan, where he spent the last two seasons.”
The statement added:
“He will now be available to play under Pep Guardiola immediately, starting with the FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in the summer of 2025 in the United States.”
Speaking about the move, Reijnders said:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to join Manchester City, one of the biggest clubs in the world, with the best manager, world-class players, and outstanding facilities.”
He continued:
“Under Pep Guardiola, City have won so many trophies, and I want to help continue that success and achieve even more in the years ahead. It’s a dream come true to play in the Premier League. So many top Dutch players have starred in this league over the years—it’s truly inspiring, and I hope to follow in their footsteps.”
Manchester City will compete in Group G of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup alongside Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), Al Ain (UAE), and Juventus (Italy).
